Wales road trip – Let’s explore here

For our Wales road trip, we travelled 800 miles (1,290 km) around much of the coast and back up through the centre of Wales via the Brecon Beacons and Eryri (Snowdonia). There are lots of absolutely stunning sights in the country, especially if you like mountains and dramatic coastlines, as well as loads of amazing castles to visit … far too many for one road trip. More reasons to return again to Wales 🙂

Below is a map route that we took around Wales.  Our travels took us from Chester (England) – Wrexham – Llangollen – Conwy – Llandudno – Beaumaris – Holyhead – Llanddwyn Beach – Aberdaron – Criccieth – Portmeirion – Barmouth – Machynlleth – Aberystwyth – Cardigan – Fishguard – Saint Davids – Pembroke – Tenby – Swansea – Port Talbot – Cardiff – Newport – Caerphilly – Merthyr Tydfil – Brecon – Elan Valley – Machynlleth – Bala – Betws-y-Coed – Chester (England)

Our road trip around Wales

Due to the high chance of rain and flooding in Wales, we used the flood warning site for Wales to help us plan our journey.

If you’d like to know more about Wales, the places we’ve visited, driving conditions etc., more information and photographs can be found on the Wales page.

We’re also creating blogs for each country when we have data, or we can find decent wifi, and we have enough power!

If you’d like any information on any of these places in Wales, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
