What’s it like in North America?
North America covers almost 16.5% of the land area on the planet, and has about 7.5% of the world’s population. Each country has an incredible richness to its history, and historically there is no part of North America that has not been affected in one way or another by those in power in Europe. There are currently 23 countries in North America, with Canada being the largest country by area, and St Kitts and Nevis being the smallest.
Caribbean islands that are territories of other countries
There are many islands in the Caribbean area that are listed under their respective countries, such as Anguilla, Aruba, Bermuda, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Curaçao, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Montserrat, Puerto Rico, Saba, Saint Barthélemy, Saint-Martin, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Sint Eustatius, Sint Maarten, Turks and Caicos Islands and US Virgin Islands.
Island hopping in the Caribbean
We’ve created a route to island hop across the Caribbean. Travelling overland between the islands is quite prohibitive due to the lack of transportation options. Travelling between different island countries via ferry is possible, however, ferries only operate between some islands … there’s more information under each country. Chartering private boats between islands is also possible, although travelling with a car in this way is prohibitive. Flying is another option, although again, flights only operate between some islands.
Remember, when you’re planning your next trip to take a look at what time zone it’s in.
We’re constantly updating information on countries that we visit, so keep referring back to the info as it evolves.
